Color management is the process of achieving the best possible and reproducible color match all along the graphic chain. The camera, the scanner, the printer, the printing device and the paper, are part of the chain. All of these devices can interprete the colors in a particular way.
The color management defines a common language for all of these devices in order to get the most reliable result. It uses the rules defined by the ICC standard (International Color Consortium, 1993), in the form of the ICC profiles.
