Forough Yavari 受賞経験を有するForough Yavariは、オーストラリアのメルボルンをベースに、ファインアート ポートレートやファッションフォトグラファーとして活躍しています。 その作品は、世界各国で生活する女性たちそれぞれの背後にあるストーリーを映し取っています。
イラン革命のさなかにイランで生まれ、戦時下で子供時代の8 年間を送った彼女は、早くから芸術に熱中し、幼少期から想像上の主題をデッサンや絵画で表現していました。 大学で正式に絵画を学び、この時期に写真科学生に向けたモデルを務めていた時に写真に対する情熱を見出すことになりました。
Forough Yavariは、絵画と写真に関する知識や専門技術を融合させ、デジタル アートの制作に乗り出します。 2011年にオーストラリアに拠点を移し、この地で写真ビジネスを打ち立て、国際的に活躍する写真家として知られるようになりました。 中東の国に生まれたことによる個人的な経験が自身の作品に映し出されていることを次第に強く認識するようになりました。 女性問題に対する意識は「Revision of Portraits」や「Eternal Icons」、「Salvation」といった一連の写真に昇華されています。これらの作品は、イランとオーストラリアで展示されています。
Forough Yavariは、2018 年にオーストラリア プロ写真協会 (AIPP) よりマスター オブ フォトグラフィーを受賞しています。 2019 年には、「ウェディング アンド ポートレート フォトグラファーズ インターナショナル (WPPI) 」よりマスター オブ フォトグラフィーを授与され、続く2020 年には、同WPPIよりダブル マスター オブ フォトグラフィーを授与されています。 そして2021年に、ニュージーランドプロ写真協会 (NZIPP) から栄えあるマスター オブ フォトグラフィーも獲得しています。
