SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA The series "Viali" (Italian for "avenues") is a unique and evocative exploration of the back alleys and small avenues of Italy. It is a reminder that beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. The photos in this series are characterized by their muted charcoal tones and hazy atmosphere. They often feature long shadows, speed manipulation, cobblestone streets and Vespa riders creating a sense of mystery and intrigue. The beauty of the ordinary, the sense of place, passage of time and the human element invites the viewer to wander through these forgotten spaces and imagine the stories that they hold.

Artist Bio:
Sorin Costache is a self-taught passionate photographer with former training in dark room printing and film photography. He is a single image award winner and published in the Black and White magazine in 2015, 2018 and 2023 with a honorary mention in the June 2023 edition for portrait/personality photojournalism. Sorin's photography is characterized by its strong emotions, its timeless elegance, and its commitment to capturing the human condition. He is drawn to stories of ordinary people living extraordinary lives, and his work often explores themes of identity, community, and resilience. Sorin is a talented and dedicated photographer who is making a significant contribution to the field. His work is both inspiring and thought-provoking, and it challenges us to see the world in new ways.
