" After having completed my personal project, Mi Sangre, which took almost six years to finish, I then began the inevitable journey to find the right paper to best represent the elements and the emotions of my story to print.
I found that the Canson Infinity line of fine art papers delivers throughout in consistency in my prints with brilliant whites, a deep wonderful range of black, and an unbelievable range of gray tones, Canson Infinity delivers an amazing depth of superiority and detail in all of my prints.

Additionally, the wonderful range of incredible surface textures in the Infinity line adds a quality and characteristic that is like no other paper out there. Canson Infinity papers has provided me the opportunity in helping me show my work true to form while giving me a whole new standard in the quality of my prints."

His body of work reflects the journey from Houston, TX – where he was born and raised – to New York, where he’s been working for the past 9 years.

Leaving his life to chance, he moved to Gotham to take his passion of photography to the next level. Upon arrival, he immediately began to assist many, well-established photographers and has collaborated with many top professionals in the field. He quickly took to the city’s intensity, perfecting the craft of a disciplined photographer, the skills and quirks of the business.
Rojelio’s career path has been anything but a straight line, but quickly earned a reputation of a man of hard work and talent amongst his peers.

In 2006, he decided to take his career to the next level and dedicate all of his energy to begin building the equity in his own work. Since then, his first major body of work, Mi Sangre, has won numerous awards and has gained the attention of many fine art curators and collectors across the United States and abroad. This body of work has been accepted into four fine art museums into their permanent collections and has been exhibited alongside celebrated photographers such as Edward Weston, Tina Midotti, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Paul Strand, and among others – a special and significant milestone in his early career.
The Mi Sangre series embodies the memories from his childhood and the elements that he considers to be an important part of his heritage.

While living in New York City, with the exposure of its ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic diversity, he has found a renewed and deep admiration and respect for other’s cultures and well as his own. This sensitivity has shaped the direction of his work both at the commercial and personal level.

Finally, when it comes to his opinion of photography and what it embodies, he offers this: “ I take photographs because it serves my purpose. My personal mission every time the viewfinder meets my eye, I set out to put in as much energy, personality, and a genuine soul – much of which that everyone possesses.”
