Whilst working as a Quality Manager, Eric Verrot practises photography as his main passion. His love for Paris streets pushes him to do his first silver halide black & white photos in the 90's. At the time, architecture and street scenes were at the heart of his work. His prints showing structured composition were very successful during photo contests and public exhibitions.
Starting from 2002, a film scanner and a telemetric camera helped him to alterate and print his work. He trained himself on digital altering and started printing his work on rag paper with different grey inks (which was still quite rare at the time).
Acquiring a reflex camera in 2004 enabled him to work on studio portrait and to focus on showing the feelings communicated in the subject's eyes. This work was exhibited in black & white and openly displayed humankind with touching unpretentiousness that makes them even more attractive. Eric Verrot created for this occasion a website called "Photoregards" (Photoexpression).
In 2006, he tackled fashion photography whilst keeping his unpretentious style: in colour or in black & white, his photos avoid cosmetic alteration that too often dehumanize the subject.
At the same time, he producesd a series of seaside landscapes where he attached himself to transcribe the pleasure of contemplating real beauty. Even if the photos are shot with rigour, a romantic peace rises from them all. Printed on Canson Infinity Arches Aquarelle Rag paper, these photos invite to dwell on each detail to discover all their nuances.
