I had to dare to soak, tear, stick, sketch, paint, varnish, superimpose, dry and destroy this media to show the print as true creative matter. This way, I give this paper the right aim: to transmit reality in a magnificent way and not just reproducing it. I use Rag Photographique 310gsm and Arches Aquarelle Rag 310gsm." »

VanLuc lives and works in Arromanches (Normandy, France).

VanLuc treats the "cow theme" as a symbol to constantly reinvent, just like a graphic leitmotiv. He uses the representation of this nice and familiar animal through hundreds of paintings, sculptures, various projects on paper...

He likes to mix technics and media. His "Vache de" are developed in different shapes and colours. They question and catch the attention with their funny and pleasant look, their clear or hidden message, always with humour.

On top of this pure graphic work, VanLuc develops various projects, concepts and interventions around his favourite subject. Several works question another vision of art, another way of treating artistic matter, as a way to make Art available to all, thanks to the cow theme, a familiar and appreciated symbol for everybody, whatever the shapes, with the artist's own style.
